Mark Swirsky | Lead Pastor

Mark is the Senior Pastor at Hope Fellowship and has been with the church since June 1996. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science in Environmental Management from the University of Houston at Clear Lake City. He worked as a biologist with an environmental consulting firm in Clear Lake City for six and a half years. When Pastor Mark answered God’s call to go into the ministry, he studied at Dallas Theological Seminary, earning a Master of Theology degree. After completing seminary training, Mark served as an Associate Pastor at Hawthorne Gospel Church in New Jersey, where he directed a singles’ ministry.
Mark and Julie were married in 1984. Their children are Melanie, Leslie and Stephen. As a family, they enjoy camping and playing board games.

Raymond Knox | Worship Leader

Raymond graduated from Brazoswood High School in 2010 and has attended Brazosport College. Raymond’s passion is to play guitar, sing, and to lead God’s people into worship. In addition to acoustic guitar, Raymond also plays bass, drums, and keyboard. He has also written several of his own songs. Prior to coming to Hope, Raymond was involved in helping lead worship at Shady Oaks Assembly of God and was the Worship Leader for the youth ministry there as well. He has led worship as needed at other churches in the area and has also filled in on guitar.

Jason Rogers | Youth Director

Jason was born and raised in Texas. Jason served 6 years in the U.S. Navy before moving to the Lake Jackson area with his wife Jacquin. He graduated from Brazosport College in 2006. Jason served as part of the worship ministry and as a youth volunteer for three years before taking on the role of Director of Youth at Hope. He is a self proclaimed sci-fi geek who believes that cheesecake is God’s favorite food. Jason enjoys playing games and making music but more than anything else, he likes to hang with his family. He has been married to Jacquin since 2001 and they have four fantastic kids, Addisyn, Elianah, Hadley and Raelynn.

Michelle Deavenport | Children’s Ministry Director

Michelle Deavenport has been involved in Hope Fellowship ministries including youth, children, worship and outreach since January 1996, and has been the Children’s Director since 2013.  Michelle also serves as the team leader for the Pinteresting Women of Hope ministry.  Prior to being on staff, she was helping children in the community by co-founding a private school, and was later employed as a juvenile corrections officer. Although resistant to divorce, Michelle found herself a single parent to five amazing children and through the challenge has found joy in Christ.  Her passion is to help every child God brings her way to reach their fullest potential in Christ and in life. Her ministry motto is “Be the person you needed when you were a child”. She graduated from Liberty University with a B.S. in Psychology.
