February 13 – Surfside Marathon
o
There will be two shifts (8am-12am & 11am-3pm) helping setup and
serve for this year’s Surfside Marathon. Transportation will be provided if
needed. The first shift will meet at 7:30am at Hope Fellowship. The second
shift will meet at 10:30am. If you plan on going in your own transportation
meet at Stahlman Park (volunteer’s tent) at the appropriate time.

Challenge packets are due. See below for links
to the application and related information packets. If you give a
commitment to go then you will be held accountable for the deposits required.
Our hope is that through our fundraisers and letter writing no one will have to
pay out of pocket (or at least very little) for the trip. Challenge was a great
time two years ago and I hope to see all of you there this year!

MENTORING & LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
If you are an adult or a junior or senior in High
School and are interested in being a mentor for one of our fine teens
please read please make plans to be apart of our Fall mentor training.
The fall wave of the 5 week training starts 9/27/2009 at 4pm-6pm. The
other dates are 10/4/2009, 10/11/2009, 10/18/2009, 10/25/2009. We will
also ask you to buy a copy of the book LifeGiving Mentors: A Guide to
Investing Your Life in Others for $12 to serve as a field aid during
your mentoring relationship. The match-up
forms are attached and can be found below.

Fields that have check boxes or require a signature will need to be
completed after you print the document to be submitted to Johnathan or left
in his box. Please try to type in your answers where possible to help us
understand your thoughts as intended.

use both the Personality Profile test and Motivational Needs survey that we
have made available to help you with Mentor Match-up Profile where
applicable. We will use the Mentor Match-up Profile to match potential
mentors with potential mentees. You do not have to submit the other
documents, but please use them to fill out the Mentor Match-up Profile.
